I'd like you to meet "The Band"!
Thousands of hours have been spent in Wayne's recording studio to produce the absolute finest backing trax to back up Wayne Reed's, and ROUTE 66's live performances.
Our backing tracks are not computer generated MIDI files!
While ROUTE 66 performs, playing 2 Guitars, Harmonica, Hand Percussion (Congas, Timbales, etc.) plus 2 voices . . . "The Band" is busy in the background providing the main Rhythm Section, Percussion Section and Horn Section! Plus Bass, Keyboards, Strings and more!
In the past you've heard some outstanding 4, 5 and 6 piece bands perform with a keys player, playing 1, 2 or 3 keyboards, or "synths". And that keys man added the horns and strings. And you know it sounded GREAT! They played horn band songs by bands like Chicago and Blood, Sweat and Tears and sounded amazing, Right?!? Latin Rock by bands like Santana (Who uses backing tracks, by the way!)
FYI: I've seen Santana perform with his 11 pc full band. I also saw him
at Blosson Center in Cleveland, Ohio in an outside concert. He played with
SIX - 6 musicians! And . . . Backing Tracks, LIVE, in the 1980s! He had
horns and percussion back tracked. Just sayin' !
What you might not know is that the keys player isn't actually playing all of those horn and string parts live! He's only playing a small part of what you hear. BUT . . . he DID play all of those parts, once!
It's called sequencing. He records his various parts, layers them "sound on sound" and saves the recording. That recording, or sequence as it was called back in the day, is a backing track.
The "recording" is simply a MIDI keyboard recording what he playes. He plays
along with a click track. At live gigs, on that keyboard, he just starts that
sequence. And it plays through the PA, along with a click track sent to
the drummer's monitor!
All those phenom bands of the 70s, 80s and 90s that sounded like 20 players at once . . . the big hair Glam bands, the Ambient Rock bands . . . all used "sequences", or backing tracks as we call them now.
Wayne Reed produces all of the backing tracks used in his solo performances and in
Route 66's performances. The trax play through high end PA equipment like Bose F1-812 and F1-SUB. Bose L1, and Mackie DLM12 series 2000 watt powered speakers.
So, even solo, you get Wayne Reed . . . and The Band! This is SO MUCH cooler than listening to someone strum an acoustic guitar all night singing, and playing MIDI files through their laptop!
Try sounding like this with a MIDI file and acoustic guitar! This is me playing a solo gig.
BTW . . . There's nothing wrong with a performer using MIDI files to add to their performance! It can add a lot to the entertainment! And it is possible to made decent sounding MIDI files! I'm not putting down MIDI performers! If you are a MIDI performer, and want to dramatically improve on the sound of your MIDI files, get in touch with me. I'll turn you on to the best SoundFont

I just personally prefer making backing tracks that sound like they are actually live performers on stage. That means MANY long hours producing each backing track. And it also means running them through very high quality PA equipment!
So now you've met the band. Depending on the song, you have a full band, and sometimes a full orchestra! So you get the sound of 9, 10, or more live players, for much less than a huge band would cost. Not to mention the amount of space a band this big requires!
AND how loud a band this big would be!
Solo performances with an entire backing band? Amazing!
You can listen to just the backing tracks. These are short, several seconds, SNIPS of about 100 songs. All in SHORT sample audio clips! Blues, Classic Rock, Country, Jazz, Rock-a-Billy, Surf, 60's Motown R&B, 60's Rock, Latin Rock,
80's & 90's Rock . . . BritRock!
Multi-Genre' . . . . We play it all!
